Business Intelligence Co-op - Spring 2025

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) Co-op to support a project focused on evaluating BI products available in the market. The primary goal of this co-op position is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of BI tools and platforms, assessing their features, benefits, and suitability for various business needs. The co-op will deliver a detailed evaluation report with actionable recommendations for potential adoption or integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research: Conduct extensive research on current BI products and platforms, including industry leaders and emerging solutions.
  • Feature Analysis: Evaluate the features, functionalities, and user experience of different BI tools, including dashboards, reporting capabilities, and data integration options.
  • Comparative Assessment: Compare BI products based on key criteria such as cost, scalability, ease of use, support, and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Stakeholder Interviews: Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their BI needs and preferences to inform the evaluation process.
  • Data Collection: Gather and analyze product data, customer reviews, case studies, and expert opinions to support the evaluation.
  • Documentation: Compile findings into a structured report that includes a comparative analysis, recommendations, and potential benefits of each BI solution.
  • Presentation: Prepare and present your findings to key stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations for potential adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with BI tools and basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools for data analysis.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a focus on detailed assessment and comparative analysis.
  • Research Skills: Ability to conduct thorough market research and synthesize complex information.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to evaluating product features and documenting findings.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience or coursework related to business intelligence or data analytics.
  • Basic understanding of BI tool functionalities and market trends.
  • Prior experience in research or evaluation projects is a plus.
