Program Coordinator
Description: This is a dual-role position where a percentage of time involves classroom teaching (50%) and a percentage of time involves academy administrative and educational tasks (50%). As a highly professional individual, the Program Coordinator works closely with the Academy Assistant Director to provide a model early education and care environment within their assigned classroom, the classrooms of their fellow staff and maintains and supports a positive and appropriate educational program occurring at academy.
Qualifications/Requirements: The Program Coordinators primary focus is the provision of high-quality programming within their assigned classroom. Their classroom must serve as a model and training resource to other academy teaching staff. Model classroom programming must include a triangulated framework of family-centered practices; developmentally, individually and culturally appropriate practices and intentional teaching; and program support. The Program Coordinator must be committed to best practices; always striving for excellence and successful child outcomes.
- Degree in Early Childcare, Education, or a related field required.
- Demonstrated excellence in classroom programming, preferably among Clever Bee Academy classroom assessment processes.
- Demonstrated communication skills, including expressive (written and oral) as well as receptive skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently as well as collaboratively make appropriate and rational judgments and decisions, reason effectively and solve problems.
- Demonstrated computer literacy. Proficient in Microsoft Office a plus.
- Must possess exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to frequently lift or move weight as in lifting, carrying or holding children and infants of 10-60 lbs.
- Ability to effectively read, write and communicate the English language. Bilingualism is a plus.
Essential Duties: Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support academy programming within assigned age groups/classrooms.
- Work in conjunction with academy teaching staff and the Academy Assistant Director to ensure adequate classroom supplies, equipment and resources are available.
- Assist the Academy Assistant Director with the quality rating improvement system (ERS) for their assigned age group/classrooms to ensure the obtainment and maintenance of the highest quality credentialing.
- Know, articulate and remain current of best practices in professional development for early childhood education.
- Understand and be mindful how personal appearance, dress, use of body language and the voice tone impact the presentation, environment, and how staff, children and families engage.
- Work with Academy Assistant Director in identifying trainings that staff need for their professional development and classroom management.
- Monitor and rotate evidence of learning boards within classrooms and centers weekly
- Help with and train classroom management
- Monthly curriculum binder checks (checklist provided)
- Work with Academy Assistant Director with SUTQ trainings monthly
- Work with Academy Assistant Director with teacher observations monthly
- This role may be requested to drive the Center's mini-school bus to transport School-agers to and from their school and the Center.
