Receptionist - Curriculum Services Center (CSC) - Clerical Test Required
OVERVIEW
This position involves the individual to operate the district switchboard, respond to switchboard and in-person inquiries from students, parents, district personnel, and public, etc., provide requested information and/or refer to appropriate parties, and provide general clerical support to staff as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school education required
- Proficient Spanish verbal and written communication skills required
- Average typing proficiency, with good accuracy; above-average test battery
- Computer proficiency, including use of basic software applications and Cloud-based systems (Word, Excel, email, Google Drive, etc.)
- Ability to operate standard office equipment; knowledge of office procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written); excellent telephone and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, various secure systems and activity logs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative professional relationships with the general public and district employees of all levels
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
- Ability to take responsibility and exercise good judgment
- Knowledge of Mesa Public Schools departments, policies and procedures helpful
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Answer district switchboard and multiline phone system to screen calls, to transfer calls, to respond to inquiries and/or to take messages; serve as receptionist for Curriculum Services Center campus
- Greet students, parents, district personnel, general public and/or representatives from outside agencies upon entering building
- Monitor security cameras near entrances and access to campus lobby
- Be familiar with all building operations and emergency systems and procedures; be prepared to assist in their execution
- Be aware of all events being held in Governing Board room and be prepared to assist if asked to do so by supervisor
- Maintain an orderly workspace; have district information available for selection or distribution
- Regular and on-time attendance required. This is not a remote position.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
MARGINAL DUTIES
- Perform general clerical tasks (typing, copying, mailings, etc.)
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
- Participate in customer service professional learning opportunities, including regular check-ins with supervisor and other district receptionists
