Position Overview – Junior Data Scientist:
Data-Core Systems, Inc. is seeking a motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our Consulting team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, architecture, and implementation of complex applications, often leveraging emerging technologies. You will also provide technical expertise and assist with system designs for various initiatives, collaborating with subject matter experts from our teams.
Project Background:
Our client, a leading player in roadway systems, is undergoing a digital transformation that includes the implementation of a new billing system. This system leverages cutting-edge software solutions such as SAP BRIM, DigitalRoute’s Convergent Mediation Platform, Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Microsoft Dynamics CE, and Nuance IVR. In addition, our client seeks to deploy advanced AI-driven tools to improve productivity and deliver superior customer outcomes. Your role will involve guiding the development and optimization of AI-based solutions tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into comprehensive solution designs, identifying areas for system improvement and integration
- Develop analytical and predictive models, utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to enhance predictive capabilities
- Build Large Language Models (LLMs) to create conversational chatbots using extensive client datasets
- Design and implement deep learning algorithms for computer vision applications, enabling the recognition of roadway objects through supervised and unsupervised learning methods
- Train and retrain models as needed, extending existing ML libraries and frameworks
- Explore and experiment with new models and techniques, aligning data-driven projects with organizational goals
- Stay informed of the latest advancements in AI, ML, and data science
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python (with libraries like Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- A strong foundation in statistical analysis and predictive modeling
- Knowledge of AI and ML techniques
- Previous experience in data science projects is a plus.
