Pre-Medical Fellow

About Us

The Scar Healing Institute (SHI) is the only medical facility worldwide dedicated to providing and advancing innovative scar treatments. Dr. Salar Hazany, the founder of SHI, is a top fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. Pre-medical fellows serve both the Scar Healing Institute and Dr. Hazany's office, gaining familiarity with general medical and procedural cosmetic dermatology with unique expertise in scar treatment, as well as Mohs micrographic surgery with cosmetically-sensitive reconstructions.

 

Job Description

The SHI pre-medical fellowship is an immersive training opportunity for highly motivated pre-medical students in their gap years. The learning you will receive here will help candidates not only to get into medical school, but excel in residencies and professional endeavors beyond.

During their two gap years, pre-medical fellows are given an unparalleled opportunity to work closely with providers and patients as they oversee and coordinate patient flow, operational tasks, and assist providers during all surgeries and daily procedures.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree: Completed or in progress (will graduate by June 2025).
  • Must adhere to all policies and procedures and understand the importance of maintaining compliance to the regulations set forth by the California Medical Board and other such entities.
  • Exhibit exceptional ability to work with a diverse staff and patients from around the world.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Second language capabilities are valued, please specify both language and fluency in your cover letter.
