2024-25 Itinerant Teachers for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
Position: Itinerant Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
Location: Hopewell Center | Southern Ohio Educational Service Center
The Southern Ohio Educational Service Center is currently seeking multiple licensed Itinerant Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2024-2025 school year.
General Description: Selected candidates will provide supplemental aids and services necessary to enable students who are deaf/hard of hearing to progress in the general curriculum and advance appropriately toward achieving educational goals.
Qualifications:
Ohio Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Educator Licensure/Certification (Ohio Intervention Specialist Hearing Impaired PK-12 Licensure)
Training and/or experience in teaching children/youth who are hearing impaired and working effectively with educators and families.
Demonstrates basic sign skills expressively and receptively (conversational) and/or advancing towards sign proficiency.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Interested candidates must possess proper licensure or the ability to obtain Intervention Specialist Hearing Impaired PK-12 Licensure through the Ohio State Board of Education.
