IT Support Analyst

BWX Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking an IT Support Analyst - Onsite in its Barberton, OH location

 

The IT Support Analyst position works as a member of the Information Technology team to extend 1st and 2nd level support to local and remote end users.  This position deals with issues or problems that often require thoughtful evaluation before coming up with approaches or solutions.  This position must develop and maintain good working relationships, resolve problems, and positively influence others in order to successfully produce customer satisfaction.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Installs, relocates, and upgrades PC hardware, software, peripherals and other devices, to satisfy business and end-user requirements.
  • Provides 1st and 2nd level Service Desk support to end users and Site Administrators, for PC and software related issues.
  • Supports User Account Administration and associated documentation control.
  • Minimizes equipment failures through proper design and setup of standardized desktop systems and processes.
  • Works with the IT Operations management to determine strategic direction for the desktop environment, including the evaluation and testing of new technologies.
  • Develops work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and end-user technical documentation relating to the desktop environment.
  • Troubleshoots and supports proprietary software programs and third-party software and applications.
  • Maintains computer cabinets, storage rooms, and PC/Laptop/peripherals/parts inventory.
  • Ensures effective communication between the desktop support team and the rest of the IT organization.
  • Provides status reports of projects and systems issues.
  • Provides, configures, troubleshoots, and tracks company smartphones and broadband devices.
  • Carries out audit tasks to ensure secure systems and management oversight is performed to meet SOX and internal audit commitments.
  • Plans and executes user system refresh.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

 

  • High School diploma and/or GED. 
  • 2 or more years of IT-related job experience, preferably help desk.
  • Technical proficiency in areas relating to computer hardware, computer operating systems and desktop applications.
  • Experience in PC imaging and software package creation/deployment.
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve desktop system issues in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks successfully.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and new system implementation.
  • Ability to make contacts with other departments, requiring tact and judgment to ensure effective support.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex situations independently.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and Administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is desired.
