Director of Campus Culture

Director of Campus Culture

Notre Dame Prep, a Catholic, Marist school seeks a Director of Campus Culture who will be the lead agent in the school’s work toward its vision of being an equitable and inclusive community, which is a key strategic priority for the school and which aligns with our Marist mission. The Director of Campus Culture will lead initiatives to foster a culture of inclusivity and respect, ensuring all students, faculty, and staff feel valued and supported. This role involves developing and implementing strategies and programs that align with the school's Catholic and Marist values and educational mission.


 

Responsibilities:


 

Mission and Vision

  • Provide mission-based strategic leadership in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice to create a stronger and more welcoming student culture. 
  • Set a clear vision and data-driven goals for culture in partnership with the Notre Dame Preparatory School Administrative Team.  
  • Lead the development and implementation of school culture initiatives that align with the mission, diversity statement, and strategic plan of the school.
  • Create relationships with the students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the entire Notre Dame Prep community.

Support  the Faculty, Staff and Administrative Team

  • Assist with and support day-to-day campus culture issues that arise, including issues that deal with identity and background consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.  
  • Assist with and/or lead sensitive conversations with students, faculty, staff, counselors and families.
  •  Assist in the recruitment and retention of diverse students, faculty, and staff.

Student Education

  • Develop mission-based cultural lessons, programs and extracurricular activities.
  • Organize student culture focused speakers and presentations for students and faculty/staff.

Data Collection/Trends

  • Establish metrics and benchmarks to measure the effectiveness of culture initiatives and regularly report progress to the principals.
  • Stay current on school culture trends in independent schools by attending relevant professional training and conferences.
  • Track student culture incidents across all three campuses, monitor trends, and plan corresponding training (administration/faculty/staff) or instruction (students).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred (education, social work, human resources, or a related field)
  • 3+ years designing and implementing organizational change initiatives with diverse stakeholders (i.e. professional development, large group facilitation, survey data tracking and analysis, etc.)
  • Experience supporting leaders and efforts around student culture; experience in an independent school preferred
  • Experience facilitating culture-related conversations
  • Experience with student culture best practices and a deep commitment to enhancing organizational culture in order to develop a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive community
