Research Associate

Seeking to hire a Research Associate for a contract opportunity in Chicago

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively organizes work, sets priorities, determines resource requirements, establishes the necessary sequence of activities needed to achieve goals
  • Conducts a range of tests to measure the functionality of protein ingredients, including but not limited to solubility, emulsification, foaming, and gelation properties
  • Performs tests and analyses on yogurt samples to assess physical properties and stability
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and materials, ensuring that stock levels are maintained, and orders are placed when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance standards

  • Schedule: 8 am-5 pm
  • Location: Chicago
  • Duration: 6 months+

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or production environment, preferably in the field of food ingredient development
  • Familiarity with food ingredients and techniques for assessing ingredient functionality
  • Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment operation, and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate test results effectively
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality in all aspects of work
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
