2025 BI Developer & Data Analytics Summer Internship

PURPOSE

As our Intern BI Developer on our Reporting & Analytics team within the broader Enterprise Data and Analytics team, you will be a member of the team to deliver data, reports, and dashboards to allow BFS to make data driven decisions.   Shadows employees and rotates through various Product Teams observing, learning and performing responsibilities to gain industry knowledge, functional processes and practices.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shadows assigned employees/management to learn and perform assigned duties to become familiar with company processes and procedures.
  • Learns data analysis methods and procedures by assisting others in the collection and analysis of data.
  • Designs, develops and maintains business intelligence solutions
  • Has knowledge in SAP Analytics Cloud or Power BI visualization tools
  • Understands requirements regarding solutions, ensures data quality and match-back to core systems transaction results
  • Conducts data analysis, data design, gap analysis and source to target mappings per the specifications of a project.
  • Creates and maintains business requirements and other technical documentation.
  • Reviews data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Performs data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques
  • Conducts preliminary analysis, aggregates data, identifies and calls out trends and patterns.
  • Extracts, cleans and assesses data, leveraging well-established analytics systems and tools.
  • Develops an understanding of data governance, workflows and procedures
  • Analyzes existing reports and optimizes them for standardization across the company
  • Conducts troubleshooting on BI models.
  • Supports coordination of project plans through tracking and reporting on processes and targets for small team activities.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Data & Analytics, Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Applied experience in data modeling, wireframing and report building
  • Preferred technology experience:  SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Agile Product Teams
