Innovation Electrical Engineer - Internship
We are a fast-growing microplastic filter startup seeking talented and experienced Electrical Engineers to join our team with a specialty in hardware design, embedded systems, and Arduino.
We have developed a best-in-class microplastic filter for washing machines, which are the #1 source of microplastics in the environment. Recently, legislation has passed in France requiring washing machine manufacturers to include microplastic filters on all newly produced / sold washing machines in France. CLEANR is aiming to work with washing machine manufacturers to meet this legislative requirement. In this role, you will work directly with our Innovation Team and senior leadership to develop features enabling a wholistic microplastic filtration experience from both an end consumer and legislative perspective.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and create prototypes of electronic features using a variety of methods and materials, including Arduino, PCB Design, and manual fabrication
- Think outside the box to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and technicians, to ensure that prototypes meet the required specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with prototypes, making recommendations for improvements as needed
- Stay up to date with the latest technology and trends in electrical and hardware engineering and make recommendations for incorporating new techniques into our processes
- Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
- Working towards or has completed a bachelor's degree in electrical or computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- All undergraduates, must have completed a minimum of 3 years of coursework
- High Proficiency in reading and analyzing schematic diagrams and circuit board layouts
- Experience analog or digital hardware design
- Experience designing and implementing embedded systems (Nice to have)
- Knowledge of KiCAD EDA or other PCB design software (Nice to have)
- Familiarity with STM32Cube IDE and Arduino IDE (Nice to have)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
