Pharmacy Technician

Summary/Objective
The pharmacy technician plays a critical role in the pharmacy. They are responsible to correctly fill medications prescribed by our customers veterinary team, via in-house sales or online medication refill requests. The pharmacy technician also provides customer service and care with each customer interaction.

Essential Functions

· Pick Prescription products according to customer’s order

· Take refill Rx orders from prescriber’s office by phone.

· Label each product in accordance with board of pharmacy required prescription label.

· Enter prescriptions taken by pharmacist into computer.

· Entry of DVM name into system & license verification by adherence to our CO. Quality control protocols.

· Prepare product for shipping

· Ensure 100% accuracy of prescription shipments to our customers

· File prescriptions alphabetically for proper recording keeping protocol

· Generate routine inventory transfer and transaction reports.

· Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.

· Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy department and monitor stock rotation, current dating status of each product.

· Make Final delivery of Rx items to store pickup customers.

  • Works with Customer Care and Warehouse Associates to ensure that company standards, shipping policies, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Answer Pharmacy line as needed for referral to pharmacist as needed.
  • Perform other related duties in the warehouse as assigned which may include picking and packing non-prescription orders

Work Environment
All work is completed in our Distribution Center, Pharmacy Department. Must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift 30lbs. Temperatures in the center will vary between colder and warmer temperatures based on outdoor weather conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position can be full or part time with varying hours from 7 am to 7:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Travel
This position does not have any travel requirements

Requirements and Qualifications.

1. Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician

2. Must be able to pass a FBI/BCI Background check

3. Must be at least 18 years of Age

4. Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
