Akron Community Internship: LINKS Youth Center Support

Location: Fulton Street Youth Center 135 Fulton Street Akron, OH. 44305
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 2:30 PM -4:30 PM
University of Akron students must be able to pass an FBI and BCI background check to have this internship.

Position Summary: We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Youth
Center Support Staff team. In this role, you will assist with homework help, meal
preparations, cleaning duties, and engaging students in activities. This position is ideal for
someone who enjoys working with youth and is committed to creating a supportive and
positive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Homework Assistance:
o Provide individual or small group help with homework assignments.
o Offer guidance and support to ensure students understand their tasks and
complete assignments effectively.

2. Meal Preparations:
o Assist with the preparation of snacks or meals for the students.
o Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are followed.

3. Cleaning and Maintenance:
o Maintain cleanliness and organization of the youth center, including common
areas and activity spaces.
o Perform light cleaning tasks such as tidying up, taking out trash, and ensuring
a safe and sanitary environment.

4. Activity Engagement:
o Plan and facilitate engaging activities for students.
o Encourage positive behavior and create a positive atmosphere for all
participants.
