Outside Sales Representative

Job Title: Outside Sales Representative – Industrial Woodworking Industry

 

Location: Minnetonka, MN – Territories throughout the Midwest available

 

Job Type: Full-Time, in person

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team in the industrial woodworking industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and driving sales growth. This role requires a deep understanding of woodworking products and solutions, mechanical understanding, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Prospect and Develop New Business: Identify potential customers and develop strategies to introduce and sell our woodworking products and solutions.

- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and support.

- Sales Presentations: Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients, highlighting the benefits and features of our products.

- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.

- Sales Targets: Meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics as set by the company.

- Territory Management: Manage and grow sales within an assigned territory, including regular travel to customer sites.  Travel will be overnight and should be weekly.

- Collaboration: Work closely with the inside sales team, product specialists, and management to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve business goals.

- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and forecasts in the company’s CRM system.

 

Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the industrial woodworking industry or related field.

- Knowledge: Strong understanding of woodworking machinery, tools, and materials.

- Skills: Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and presentation skills.

- Travel: Willingness for weekly overnight travel within the assigned territory.  Occasional national travel for training.  

- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Technical degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

- Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

- Technology: Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
