Scientific Researcher I or II (contingent), Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences, Genentech
We seek an outstanding candidate to join the formulation screening efforts in the Synthetic Molecule Analytical Chemistry Development. Responsibilities include designing and performing high-throughput screenings (HTS) for amorphous solubility and dosage forms. Other responsibilities may include LC-MS analytics, analytical specification of peptides and nucleic acids, characterizations of nanoparticle drug delivery systems, solid state/polymorph characterizations, and stability studies to support formulation development. The successful candidate will accomplish our mission through creative problem-solving, use of state-of-the-art lab automation technologies, as well as innovation and collaboration with our subject matter experts.
• BS/MS in a relevant scientific discipline (chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or chemical engineering preferred) with 0 - 5 years’ industrial experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Candidates must have solid theoretical knowledge of pharmaceutics; analytical, physical, and/or organic chemistry.
• Hands on experience in analytical instruments including UV/Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy, UPLC and LC-MS, CE, particle sizing etc.
• Experience in the development of amorphous solid dispersion formulations, solubility and stability assessments are preferred.
• Experience in analyzing nucleic acids especially oligonucleotides is plus.
• Experience in lab automation, high-content data analysis, and hands-on experience in robotic liquid and solid handlers is plus.
• Experience in parenteral formulations including lipid emulsions, lipid or polymer nanoparticle systems is plus.
• Capable of fast learning, solving technical problems, analyzing data, and reporting results to teams.
• Candidates should be self-motivated, have good communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
