District Behavior Specialist

Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.  Plan, guide, evaluate, and revise strategies, services, and support to improve achievement and school engagement for scholars experiencing behavior and academic challenges including consulting with teachers, staff, administrators, and guardians/caregivers to plan strategies, observing scholars and classrooms to provide input on academic and behavioral strategies, coaching staff in Behavior Support Plan implementation, collaborating with instructional staff to create a structured and supportive classroom environment and ensure goals and objectives outlined by IEPs and Behavior Support Plans are implemented with fidelity, working with Problem Solving Teams to establish effective, efficient processes for Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, contributing and modeling evidenced-based strategies for instructional staff, working collaboratively with district and site teams to identify needs, plan and deliver professional learning support for curriculum implementation, seeking and measuring effective, efficient processes that move the system forward; make appropriate and equitable use of services, resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district, school, program or department for which employed; maintain contact and communication with staff, administrators, colleagues, scholars, and guardians/caregivers and work with them in the development, delivery, and assessment of strategies, support, and professional learning; collaborate within and across departments, programs, and sites; participate in district, building, and department leadership activities; provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning and support when applicable. Ability to be flexible with work hours to meet the needs of the district, department, and /or program at the discretion of the supervisor.

District Behavior Specialist Job Description
 

Minimum qualifications include: 
 

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Current license in a Special Education area or Licensed School Psychologist , OR a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission.*
  • If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2.*
  • Five (5) years minimum of experience working with students with behavioral/academic needs

Preferred qualifications include: 
 

  • BCBA preferred
  • Current Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) trainer or willing to be trained as trainer


Salary:  View salary grid on Pages 51 - 52 of the teacher’s contract Education Minnesota Osseo 
Work schedule: 191 days/school year
FTE: 1.0
Bargaining unit: Education Minnesota Osseo 
Desired start date: August 2024
