The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water has an opening for a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer in the Southeast California Section. The position is for the San Diego District located in the San Diego office at: 2375 Northside Drive, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92108

The incumbent will be the District Engineer for the San Diego District in the Division of Drinking Water’s Field Operations Branch responsible for supervising a team of engineers providing regulatory oversight for the California Safe Drinking Water Act to approximately 80 public water systems in San Diego County.

Duties:

The Senior Water Resources Control Engineer (SWRCE) is expected to work independently, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks. Daily proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The SWRCE will communicate effectively (orally and in writing if both appropriate) in dealing with the public and/or other employees and develop and maintain engineering knowledge and skill related specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
