Human Resources Intern

Human Resources Internship $20/hour

We are hiring an HR Intern- we make lighting and controllers for aviation and aerospace. Our products go onto commercial aircraft, private planes, and fighter jets.

We offer a 9/80 work schedule where you can have every other Friday off with a slightly longer workday throughout the remaining week days. (NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS!!)

As an HR Intern, you will support various HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and HR administration. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain practical HR experience, learn about HR best practices, and develop professional skills in a supportive environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting and posting job advertisements on job boards and social media platforms.
  • Screen resumes and coordinate interviews.
  • Assist in the candidate selection process by conducting preliminary phone screenings.
  • Prepare and organize onboarding materials for new hires.
  • Assist in the coordination of orientation sessions.
  • Help plan and organize employee engagement activities and events.
  • Support the creation and distribution of internal communications.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
  • Assist with HR compliance and policy documentation.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits and programs.
  • Participate in developing training materials and or conducting research on HR trends.
  • Provide support for special HR projects as needed.
  • Assist in answering HR-related inquiries from employees.
  • Support the HR team with various administrative tasks.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, documentation and time management skills
  • Analytical, logical thought process and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn various manufacturing software systems

 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Security Clearance is not required for this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess the ability to identify problems, deal with them, and work towards a solution.

Physical Demands *

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation:  $20.00/hour
