Cleveland Talent Alliance Student Influencer

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW 

For the Cleveland region to advance and compete in the global economy and be recognized as a high performing, growing and diverse metropolitan area, we must attract new talent and retain current residents. Collaboration is vital to ensuring success. 

The Cleveland Talent Alliance is a consortium of public, private and nonprofit organizations focused on achieving this goal. An initial focus is on retention of Northeast Ohio college students. 

By building a system that encompasses and addresses the talent attraction/retention cycle, the region is likely to be better positioned for success and can illustrate to both current and future residents that the Cleveland region is a community with shared goals and a commitment to collaborative success. 

SUMMARY OF POSITION 

The Cleveland Talent Alliance (CTA) Student Influencer, managed by Team NEO, will hold a project-based position with the goal of enhancing student engagement and retention through the promotion of events, businesses, and professional opportunities on social media. The Student Influencer will serve as an independent contractor to the CTA.

  • Pay will be $150/month for a total of $300 and will be paid monthly by check.
  • CTA will monitor posts for quantity and quality.
  • Internship duration: two months from August 1-September 30, 2024
  • Internship Start Date/Orientation: TBD

  • Create/add to social media and/or marketing portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Using personal public accounts, attend and promote CTA-specific events via social media, including community events, Ingenuity Fest, Career Fair.  
  • Using your personal public accounts, share and promote Northeast Ohio events and experiences that you and your friends love, such as music, biking, lake activities, arts and culture, food, and more. Highlight ease of transportation, student discounts, and affordability.
  • Post three times per week across all platforms: Instagram Story, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, Facebook Story, TikTok
    • Tag all CTA organizations using provided hashtags and captions.
    • Complete an Excel spreadsheet with the links to each post, which will be provided by the CTA.
  • CTA will provide required and recommended community events to attend. 

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current student at a Northeast Ohio college or university pursuing a four-year degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Graphic Design, or other relevant field.
  • Ability to take initiative and be highly self-motivated.
  • Excellent written, oral, and social media communication skills.
  • Significant following, experience and skill with social media platforms. 
  • Ability to professionally promote Northeast Ohio to peers.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work approximately 2 flexible hours per week.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT  
Off-site position, attending community events.
