Assistant Account Executive, Brand (Salutem)

The Assistant Account Executive should bring experience in the beauty and personal care categories to be leveraged across several of the team’s new, highly visible accounts.  

This role will play a pivotal role in supporting the team in executing with excellence. This opportunity is perfect for a smart, gutsy, self-starting PR practitioner who would like to grow their career. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support account teams in daily activities including integrated communications, media relations, consumer engagement, trend monitoring, brand collaborations, social media and digital campaigns
  • Provide client service administration including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media monitoring reports and competitor coverage, scheduling, and logistics 
  • Research, outline, write, edit, and proofread materials, specifically pitches, product key messages, fact sheets, talk tracks, media briefing documents and more 
  • Build and foster ongoing relationships with key media across brands
  • Conduct media outreach and follow up in alignment with pitch calendar and agile opportunities
  • Assist with research including industry trends and competitor innovations
  • Coordinate details for brand collaborations and press & influencer events including securing attendees, staffing events, and preparing recap reports
  • Track product inventory and oversee creative product mailers alongside the team
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the social media industry, influencer marketing, and basic principles of community engagement

Qualifications:

  • Prior internship experience preferred 
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of account service staff within a specific set of accounts
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills and the ability to develop media contacts/relationships
  • Fundamental understanding of media outreach assignments and the ability to apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and online media strategies.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with beauty or personal care clients strongly preferred 
  • Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
  • An affinity for storytelling and an ability to generate creative ideas, take risks, and think big
