The Forging Industry Educational and Research Foundation (FIERF) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. In this role, the Fundraising & Workforce Development Intern will gain experience in prospecting new donors and community fundraisers, project management, and supporting workforce development initiatives. The Fundraising & Workforce Development Intern will support the Forging Foundation’s mission to engage academia and industry in meaningful partnerships to attract students to careers in the forging supply chain.

Primary Responsibilities:

•        Assist with planning and execution of special events and activities

•        Coordinate workforce opportunities for companies and schools

•        Assist with donor communications and fundraising campaigns

•        Donor database management using FIA’s CRM platform

•        Draft correspondence, reports, proposals and donor appeals

•        Assist with mailings, filing, and special projects as needed

•        Conduct research on potential donors, strategic partners, and schools

Qualifications:

•        Interest in learning about the fundraising and workforce development side of a non-profit

•        Experience with Microsoft Office computer programs

•        Positive attitude and willingness to learn

•        Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

•        Strong writing skills

•        Ability to work independently

•        Excellent communication skills and able to succeed in a team environment

Position Details:

·        $20/hour (15-20 hours per week) with start/end dates mutually agreed upon
