Development Associate

We are searching for a qualified candidate to fill our Development Associate, Community Relations position. This position raises awareness and funds for Easterseals Midwest through grassroots fundraising and outreach efforts to the local businesses and organizations, families and individuals we support, our staff, and the broader community.

Essential Functions:

  • Engage local corporations, organizations, and individuals to activate grassroots fundraising efforts such as 3rd party events, fundraising campaigns, givebacks, and more.
  • Work closely with marketing to update events on company website and market events.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers for upcoming special events, corporate volunteer projects, and other projects as they arise.
  • Coordinate and participate in community events to raise awareness of Easterseals and our programs, build relationships with the community, and share how they can get involved.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that accurate organizational information and needs are being represented at community outreach events.
  • Communicate with the individuals and families we serve on a monthly basis to share community engagement information and schedule interviews to hear their stories for Easterseals’ mission moments.
  • Supports agency efforts to build a culture of philanthropy.
  • Works as a member of the development team on department projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have bachelor's degree and 1-2 years fundraising, advocacy, community outreach or program experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
