Sacred Heart of Jesus School is a dynamic, Christ-centered school of excellence located in Wadsworth, Ohio.  As part of our academic expansion we are currently accepting applications for an art teacher for grades PreK-8. Basic Job Description: Lead students to a deeper relationship with Jesus while providing a learning environment that promotes Gospel values, social and emotional growth and academic success through art.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education
    • The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Art Education or similar and related experience.  The ideal candidate will also have a background in religious and sacred art.
  • Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Visual Arts license
  • FBI/BCII Fingerprinting
  • Religion certification, or willingness to enroll in Certification program (need not be Catholic, but must be able to support the teachings of the Catholic Church)
  • Must complete the Diocesan VIRTUS training.  This is a 2 hour course all staff and volunteers must take regarding the safety of children.

Education: • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education. The ideal candidate will have certification in art education.
