Associate Chemist - R&D

Job Title: Associate Chemist – R&D

This individual must be a self-motivated, detail oriented and energetic scientific person. This is an entry-level full time exempt position in the R&D department and based at our office located in Newark, Delaware. 

 

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree or Associate degree in Chemistry.
  • Recent graduate, prefer to have 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn different techniques, positive attitude, and work well in a group environment.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good understanding of basic principles of chemical synthesis.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Familiar with HPLC instrumentation and different LC separation techniques or chemical characterization is a plus.
  • · Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task with attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate results of experiments through proper record keeping.
  • Physically fit to stand, bend and twist.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of resin syntheses under supervision.
  • Or characterize and test the synthesized resins.
  • Follow technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents to support the chemistry experiments.
  • Maintain record keeping in notebooks and logs that are proper, thorough and legible.
  • Performance of general housekeeping maintenance in the laboratory and cleanliness in work areas.
  • Observe safety precautions as outlined in safety manuals and training.
