Events Intern

OhioGuidestone is the state’s leader in community behavioral health care, serving around 26,000 Ohioans each year. We focus on the needs of the whole person by providing telehealth and in-person prevention services, as well as mental health and substance use treatment. We are offering a paid internship opportunity for a motivated and passionate events intern to join our Advancement Department at the OhioGuidestone Berea office. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer with direction from the stewardship and events coordinator, the intern will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations necessary to plan a successful event campaign and achieve revenue goals for all fundraising events. Additional roles and responsibilities are detailed below.

Essential Functions: 

• Assist with duties requiring an understanding of OhioGuidestone’s programs and procedures.
• Assist in the logistical planning of the Promise Run and supporting events
• Assist in preparation of routine correspondence, databases and mailings. Perform copying and collating of office materials as needed.
• Contribute to content for agency communications and promotional materials.
• Communicate with Promise Run participants, donors and sponsors. Provide support and motivation, as necessary.
• Represent OhioGuidestone at event recruitment and awareness events.
• Assist with the solicitation of in-kind donations.
• Build customized sponsorship packets.
• Assist the advancement team in research and analysis of prospective event donors and participants.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• Valid driver’s license and current proof of auto insurance

Hours: 40 hours per week, May 15 – Aug 15, with the option to work part time from Aug 16 through the end of September.

Wage: $15/hour
