Production and Inventory Control Coordinator

Summary

Develop production schedules and coordinate inventory flow supporting customer service goals. Make tactical decisions to balance supply, align material volumes and availability with anticipated and planned customer demand. Compile and communicate production, inventory and material utilization reports for Management. Collaborate with all departments.

  • A related degree plus six months experience, which may include internship(s), in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics related environment required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor production schedules to meet both internal and external deadlines efficiently.
  • Collaborate with customer service and sales to update production plans or material purchases based on order changes.
  • Generate and manage work orders for production and R&D trials, ensuring accurate data entry in Sage.
  • Compile and analyze production batch times to provide actionable insights to management.
  • Participate in the raw material planning process.
  • Proactively manage inventory in line with stocking policies to ensure timely availability of necessary production ingredients.
  • Lead and coordinate creation of new product set up in Sage X3. This includes product, product site, formula and BOM set up, work center selection and routing.
  • Process all internal stock movements and transactions, ensuring accurate and timely recordkeeping in the ERP system.
  • Handle all documentation and processing for bulk shipments, including completing transactions up to the invoicing stage.
  • Accurately receive and record inventory into stock for effective management.
  • Manage safety stock levels and determine reorder points based on sales and production data, updating the ERP system accordingly.
  • Notify purchasing and management proactively about required materials, quantities, and delivery timelines.
  • Actively report and manage aging and obsolete inventory to determine necessary actions with management.
  • Coordinate material staging for R&D testing prior to production runs to ensure readiness.
  • Actively participate in the annual inventory audit process.

Qualifications

  • A related degree plus six months experience, which may include internship(s), in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics related environment required.
  • Excellent Microsoft skills especially in Excel. ERP experience ideal.
  • Math and reasoning skills with ability to anticipate, analyze, and interpret data and trends.
  • Outstanding attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Confident and clear written and verbal communication with internal and external resources.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines reliably.
  • Ability to work under some pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Desire to learn and take on additional projects and responsibilities cooperatively.
  • APICS or ASCM Certified Production and Inventory Management ideal.
