Medical Coding and Billing

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, coding, and collections. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced mental health counseling office environment.

Duties:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Resolve billing issues and discrepancies
- Maintain patient records with accurate billing information
- Utilize medical billing software and systems effectively

Experience:
- Prior experience in medical billing, coding, or collections
- Knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in medical billing software and systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with medical collection practices

- Certification in Medical Billing a plus!

- Understanding of medical coding guidelines

Join our team as a Medical Biller to contribute to the efficient operation of our healthcare facility while utilizing your expertise in medical billing and coding.

Pay range may increase with completion of orientation, obtaining/possessing of certifications, experience, and volume of claims submitted.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: starting at $20.00 per hour with a very strong likelihood of 2 increases before the end of the calendar year

Expected hours: 20 per week - preferable times would be the perfect "parent schedule" 9:00am - 2:00pm (great to drop of kids at school and then in-time to pick them up at the end of your shift).

Work Location: In person  after one full year, the position may become hybrid to allow some work from home. This is dependent on the efficiency and trustworthiness of the employee
