Summer Advocacy Intern - ArtsNow

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Advocacy is core to the work of ArtsNow and requires deliberate and thoughtful effort. This project will engage a University of Akron student to organize and prioritize information by municipality, county districts, and congressional districts to allow for more meaningful and targeted advocacy efforts. The intern will be responsible for curating and organizing data and working with our executive and marketing teams to prioritize publications for targeted elected and community leaders.
In addition, this position will work to curate and leverage SummitLive365.com’s directories and listservs to support advocacy efforts and publications. This will work take place in conjunction with the Associate Director of Community Impact and will include some administrative support efforts.

INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Active and consistent communication with team
  • Logistics and timeline management
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work successfully on a team
  • Familiarity or willingness to become familiar with WordPress
  • Attend and lead team meetings as the project demands
  • Curate and organize data related to advocacy efforts
  • Collaborate with executive and marketing teams
  • Prioritize publications for targeted elected and community leaders
  • Assist in the development of advocacy strategies
  • Conduct research to support advocacy initiatives
  • Assist in the preparation of advocacy materials and presentations
  • Provide administrative support as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

ArtsNow strengthens Summit County by advancing its arts & culture assets and building
connections between arts & culture and the broader community. ArtsNow:

  • Provides residents of Summit County access to real time information about the diverse arts & culture offerings available in Summit County at SummitLive365.com.
  • Aggregates and analyzes data about arts & culture to drive sector improvement.
  • Advocates for arts & culture across the public, private and nonprofit sectors.
  • Convenes and connects artists to strengthen the sector’s impact and relevance.
  • Builds and strengthens funding for arts & culture.
