Research Assistant (Global Law Firm - Conflict Checks)

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under immediate/general supervision of the New Matter Services Manager, the New Matter Services Research Assistant provides support to, among other things, the Firm’s recruiting, anti-money laundering clearance and new business intake operations by processing searches within internal Firm databases and other commercial sources and analyzing the results. The information obtained is used to identify potential conflicts, monitor anti-money laundering compliance and to resolve any related issues. The RA is responsible for documenting and communicating the research results for reference by lawyers and other department personnel, as necessary. The RA performs other assistance, including research, analysis, and writing, as required by the department Director in support of department projects, processes and procedures.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in a law or other professional services firm preferred.
  • Experience as a Research Assistant or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on various projects simultaneously, both independently and as part of a team.
