Human Resources & Operations Intern

Job Summary
Alexander Forrest Investments is looking to employ an enthusiastic and driven HR/Operations Intern to assist with administrative and HR-related tasks along with operational oversight/innovation. The HR responsibilities include updating employee absence records, filing of sensitive documents accordingly, engaging in interviews for open positions, and providing suitable recommendations to improve existing policies. Involvement in general Business Operations will include assisting in the onboarding of new assets, continual improvement/communication of documented procedures, and mitigation of identified enterprise risks. Relevant work experience or an educational background in the HR/Operations field will be preferred. Current students are highly encouraged to apply as flexible scheduling is available. Upon acceptance of this position, chosen applicants of Sophomore standing will receive a cash prize of $2,000! This individual will be required to remain in good academic standing during the remainder of their college career, not seek employment outside of AFI, and work between 15-30 hours per week. Upon graduation, chosen applicant will receive an additional cash price $20,000. Similar signing and graduation bonus opportunities are available for students of Junior standing in the amount of $1,000 and $10,000 respectively.

Hourly compensation will be in the range of $12-$15/hour based on experience and strength of attached references.

The responsibilities that are listed below are not all inclusive; however, they are indicative of the type of responsibilities normally performed by a member of the Human Resources & Operations Team:

JOB DUTIES
  • Update/Maintenance of personnel files
  • Drafting job descriptions, interviewing candidates, and preparing offer letters
  • Resolution of staff issues/performance evaluations as needed
  • Assist with completion of New Project Onboarding Checklist for newly acquired assets
  • Identify potential operational risks and assist with proactive mitigation
  • Collaborate with Ops Team regarding process improvement and system-wide communications

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have 1-2 years’ applicable work experience or currently pursuing a college degree in the Human Resources, Operations, or other applicable Business fields
  • Minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to maintain a collaborative team attitude
  • List of 2-3 professional references
