Intervention Specialist (Special Education)

Lake Center Christian School is seeking an Elementary Intervention Specialist (Grades 9-12) for the 2024-2025 school year.

Qualifications:

  1. A personal testimony of the saving grace and power of the Lord Jesus Christ
  2. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  3. Certification or licensure by the State of Ohio for the position or eligibility for such credentials.
  4. All faculty members are required to have an ACSI certificate after their first year of employment.
  5. Testimony to an experience of salvation and a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Be able to define and explain a Biblical worldview.
  6. Adequate background of Bible knowledge and the ability to impart biblical truth to students.
  7. A member of or association with an evangelical Christian congregation and regular attendance including active support where affiliation is held.
  8. A good moral reputation and strong family relationships.
  9. Ability to relate to and work well with others.
  10. Ability to plan, teach, and assess in a co-teaching environment.
  11. Possess an understanding and commitment to Christian education and a sense of call from the Lord into teaching.
  12. Support of the Philosophy of Christian education, the educational goals, and the curriculum of Lake Center Christian School.
  13. An understanding of and agreement with the Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Commitment.

Responsibilities include:

coordinating/writing service plans, providing data and input to public schools to create an IEP,  implementing accommodations and modifications, teaching, student assessment, parent communication, and working closely with teachers, educational aides, SLP, OT, PT, and Director of Special Services on all special needs issues.  Strong candidates will possess: the ability to take initiative in responding to students’ needs in a manner that is Christ-like, respectful, and effective; the ability to maintain student confidentiality; and the ability to be flexible when working with students in a variety of situations.  Candidates must be proficient in using basic computer technology; PC, laptop, iPad, etc…

Qualifications:

  • Ohio Intervention Specialist License
  • Experience instructing students diagnosed with Autism, Specific Learning Disability, OHI.
  • Full agreement with the school’s mission and statement of faith.
