We are seeking an experienced chemist at our Union Grove Headquarters.

PURPOSE : To provide advanced technical analysis for product development and process development efforts. To investigate and resolve product performance problems

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development - Through analysis, investigation and experimentation, develop and maintain urethane product formulations and corresponding bonding systems to meet market needs as defined by sales/marketing organization.
  • Process Development - Develop written processing methods for manufacturing by scaling up laboratory methods. Audit the reproducibility at the manufacturing level to ensure satis­factory product transfer. Identify material, manpower and machine requirements along with product costs associated with scaled up new manufacturing processes .
  • Materials-Specify and approve all raw materials and mate­rial sources used in urethane products. Approve for manu­facturing use, all products compounded and by review of lab quality control testing . This includes bonding agents used for cast urethane applications.
  • Quality Control - Create, implement and maintain quality control programs for incoming raw materials associated with cast urethane products.
  • Material Process Monitoring·-Monitor the use of materials­ and processes employed at manufacturing plants to ensure conformity to established procedures and product specifica­tions as defined by approved formulations. Advise Technical Director regarding correction action for identified discrep­ancies.
  • Support - Provide technical support to customers, sales, and manufacturing with respect to product recommendations. Enhance product performance and improve manufacturing processability by analyzing requests and recommending appro­priate action.
  • Instruction - Provide instruction and training to lab tech­nicians in the areas of urethane chemistry, processing, and handling .
  • Regulatory Compliance - Maintain a neat and orderly labora­tory and pre-production area which complies with all state regulations for safety and emissions.
  • Reporting - Issue plant reports of visit and customer re­ports. Prepare and submit a monthly activity reports

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
