ERS RRED FEB Economist Intern (Washington, DC - Virtual) Summer 2024

USDA Agricultural Research Service is currently recruiting for an Economist intern at USDA ERS - Resource and Rural Economics Division (RRED) in Washington, DC for Summer 2024. Review historical estate tax law (from 1996) to identify relevant provisions to be used in estate tax estimates. Examine the current estate tax forecast model (coded in Stata) to identify elements of the model that would need to be altered to produce historical estimates and begin implementing some of these changes. Begin working with project managers on developing a technical bulletin and/or peer-reviewed journal article highlighting the effect of policy changes on estate tax liability for farm households (would not expect to complete this summer).
