Summary

This Direct-Hire position is in the Food and Drug Administration and is located in the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA), Office of Human & Animal Food Laboratory Operations (OHAFLO). ORA's mission is to protect consumers and enhance public health by maximizing compliance of FDA regulated products and minimizing risk associated with those products.

 

Duties

  • Writes reports stating the results and conclusions documenting the nature of any regulatory violation.
  • Reviews background materials, agency reports, and pertinent regulations to help determine the general approach necessary to obtain the requested information.
  • Assures the analysis and methods development work maintains the environmental integrity of the work site and products analyzed.
  • Analyzes difficult, novel, and complex food and/or drug samples.
  • Holds responsibility for quality control and quality assurance data for methods used.
  • Applies chemistry theories, practices, and established methodologies to analyze complex and unprecedented samples and to develop and modify analytical methods.
