CSR Junior Associate

Job Posting – CCL Industries Corporate               

Position: CSR Junior Associate – Summer Interns

Department:   CCL Industries Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team

Scope:   Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Worldwide

Reports to Director, Corporate Social Responsibility – CCL Industries 

Wages: 25-35 hours per week, hourly pay rate

Applications accepted for Summer start dates beginning May/June 2024.  

This temporary internship position will last 3 months (end date flexible depending on school schedule) with the opportunity to extend pending individual performance and role availability for Fall 2024. This internship position is part of a corporate team, which works with all CCL Industries business segments, divisions and operations in a wide scope of CSR and EHS support needs globally.  This role involves work on a wide scope of projects covering:

  • Support for CSR global data collection and environmental reporting needs
  • Greenhouse gas emissions accounting 
  • Tracking of key environmental indicators
  • Customer requests involving emissions allocations 
  • EHS data collection support and support for global EHS team initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry, quality analysis, updates, and other administrative tasks as necessary to maintain the Company’s sustainability reporting software and reporting procedures. 
  • Perform analyses of utility invoices and other documents, including comparison to historical data and costs as well as other key sustainability and CSR metrics monitored by the Company. 
  • Identify and report outliers, missing and incomplete data, and significant changes in trends.
  • Provide support to the CSR program for annual greenhouse gas emissions reporting requirements. 
  • Support sustainability and EHS projects as needed in areas such as recycling, landfill use reduction, waste minimization and other corporate initiatives. 
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic understanding of quantitative data analysis, accounting, or related mathematics subject. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software, especially Excel.

Education

  • Master’s candidates preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Sciences, Environmental Policy, Accounting, Finance, Statistics or related field preferred. Degree may be in progress. 

Experience

  • This is an entry level internship. Candidates should showcase an interest in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Climate Change Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Environmental Policy or similar through previous internships and/or coursework with exposure to quantitative data analysis principles. 

Physical Demands

  • Standing and walking throughout manufacturing facilities and industrial sites for audits and project activities.           
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to travel in the United States and North America as well as globally. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.
