Law/Policy Intern, Quantum Economic Development Consortium

The Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C®), a public-private partnership managed by SRI, seeks a Law/Policy Intern.  QED-C, the premier quantum industry consortium, has the mission to enable and grow the quantum industry and supply chain. The intern can work remotely from their residence, or a hybrid schedule if local to our Arlington, VA office.

Responsibilities:

The QED-C Intern will support projects on legal and policy issues in hiring and retaining global talent at U.S. quantum companies, including an examination of the impact of deemed export control and immigration policies on hiring and retention of global talent. Several leading quantum companies are involved in the effort and the individuals will interact with and learn from legal and policy experts in the quantum industry.

Qualification:

  • Current rising 2L or 3L law students, graduate students majoring in public policy or a related field
  • Successful candidates must have strong legal research and writing skills and demonstrated interest in (and ideally prior professional or coursework experience with) U.S. immigration and/or export control law and policy.
  • Previous experience in, or exposure to, the quantum industry is a major plus but not required.

The salary range is: $30-$45/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
