AmeriCorps VISTA members commit one year to serving full-time (35-40 hours/week) at a community organization (non-profit, college/university, local government office, etc.) on anti-poverty projects. VISTA members focus on building the capacity of their organization through projects such as developing outreach and marketing campaigns, building a social media presence, creating databases, writing grants, managing first-year programs, and recruiting volunteers.
