TGA Premier Sports runs a national sports enrichment program that specializes in at-school after-school Golf, Tennis, Flag Football, Sports Medley, or Cheerleading enrichment classes for Pre-K and elementary school students in the Gwinnett County and North Atlanta area. All enrichment classes take place on school campuses all year long! We are specifically looking for a Youth Sports Instructor at our North Atlanta Schools (Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, Decatur).

Requirements:

  • Must be enthusiastic and love working with children
  • Ability to step out of your comfort zone and be a kid
  • Available in the afternoon and have a reliable source of transportation
  • Experience working with children
  • Passion for sports & physical fitness
  • Previous instruction experience is not required just a passion for the games; TGA provides curriculum training
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Must we be willing to complete the required online training and paperwork in a timely manner as requested by TGA administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Coaching sports classes for the duration of the summer for PreK kids-6th grade. (3-12 years old)
  • Study your curriculum material provided by TGA before arriving to class to be adequately prepared.
  • Attend any trainings that are virtual or in person
  • Incorporating educational content into your coaching
  • Coaching your specific sport with the openness of aiding in other sports classes as an assistant.
  • Learning the TGA curriculum and coaching method, while bringing your creativity to each class.

What To Expect:

  • TEACH: Training will happen at least 2 weeks before classes start for 4 hours. You will be given your equipment and go through the materials with an experienced coach. You will also have a handbook and week-by-week course schedule for your sport. We will then run how to set up equipment, how to use and handle them, common scenarios that may happen to help keep you and your students safe, and give you your official TGA shirt!
  • GROW: We offer feedback in many ways: advice from seasoned coaches, real-time feedback with your partner coach, randomized quality checks to see how you are doing (these do not negatively impact you), and our wonderful schools will aid in any feedback and knowledge of their students. For the coach that has shown the best improvement and flexibility for the month, they will be given "Coach of the Month" and a reward that suits them.
  • Handling class loads from 5-20 children, larger classes will have assistant coaches added
  • Knowing the TGA curriculum so that you may incorporate STEAM activities and knowledge into the sports classes
  • Gaining leadership experience as you lead children through classes
  • Monthly coaches calls to help better yourself as well as the company
  • Building work relationships as you work closely with schools as well as through TGA
  • Learning the internal workings of an expanding small business
  • Quick thinking and actions with children so that everyone stays safe and happy
  • Hands-on applications to your interests including: education, exercise and physical fitness, business and marketing, or even if you are Undeclared and still looking
  • Job opportunities with TGA Gwinnett may follow on the completion of the internship

This internship is ideal for college students who would like to gain college credit and experience in their field! Possible majors include Business, Exercise Science, Sports Administration & Management, Early Childhood Education, or if you are Undeclared and would like to explore this avenue!

TGA employees also have the opportunity to work at clinics, camps, leagues, and tournaments.
