Postdoctoral Fellow-Nanomedicine, Dr. Filgueira

JOB SUMMARY

At Houston Methodist, the Postdoctoral Fellow position is responsible for performing basic research duties under the supervision/direction of a Physician (Principal Investigator). This position may work in a laboratory setting or may consist of computer work that supports the department’s research mission.

The lab currently is looking for a dedicated post-doctoral scholar with problem solving skills who has an interest in heart-related projects such as studying post-MI recovery and drug and nanoparticle delivery. We also have ongoing projects in lung cancer and orthopedics. The candidate will be involved in planning experiments, coordinating studies, analyzing data, presenting data, drafting manuscripts, and supervising other lab members. Applicants with good publication record are preferred. Previous experience with mammalian cell culture, rodent (mouse/rat) handling and surgery, performing echocardiograms, and histological image analysis, would be considered strong attributes for applicants.
