Supply Chain Process Engineer Summer Internship (Summer 2024)

PITT OHIO, a $900 million, high service, highly profitable, transportation solutions provider offering SUPPLY CHAIN, GROUND, LTL and TRUCKLOAD services is seeking a Supply Chain Marketing Summer Intern. This internship position is located at our corporate headquarters in the Strip District area of Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities

The intern should work with internal stakeholders and systems to create a documented process and data workflow diagram for all Supply Chain Customers and the assigned Carriers.  This should include all modes of transportation within the Supply Chain department.  The data workflow should include but is not limited to the following;

  • Identify the - What, Where, Why, When and How for the following data sources within the workflow;
    • Customer Data
    • Carrier Data
    • Systems Data - Storage and Management
    • Internal Departments Data – Storage and Management
  • Create process documentation, including process documents and data flow diagrams.
  • Implement data visualizations (charts, maps, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the PITT OHIO Supply Chain team in Information Technology, Administration, Operations, and other departments to produce documented process to accompany data visualizations.
  • Maintain security and integrity of sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to research external business standards for data management.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program within a STEM based major or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of at least 3.0
  • This position requires strong organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a passion for collaboration and innovation.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office 365 suite is required.
  • Knowledge of SQL database is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Power BI is preferred.
  • Familiarity working within multiple systems to understand data.
  • The position requires technical skills, including extracting data from various types of databases and inspecting/auditing data.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and principles of data visualization design is preferred.
  • This is a team-oriented position, although the applicant must possess the ability to work independently.
  • A strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal communication skills are a must.
