Job Title: Marketing, Communications and Community Engagement Intern

Term of Internship: Spring, Summer, Fall and/or Winter Terms are Available; 20- 35 hours weekly schedule TBD

About JDRF:
JDRF is the leading funder of type 1 diabetes research. From funding innovative research to advocating for government action to providing a support structure for our community, no other organization does more to fight type 1 diabetes (T1D) than JDRF.
Responsibilities:
- Support design creation, copy writing, and production of fundraising collateral, donor materials/acknowledgements and ongoing correspondence
- Responsible for assisting with the development and execution of JDRF Greater Dallas internal and external communications, marketing and collateral materials and advertising/publicity campaigns for JDRF major fundraising events (JDRF Gala, Cliff Harris Reunion Golf Tournament, and the JDRF One Walk)
- Assist with social media, email campaigns, and public relation activities surrounding upcoming signature events and marketing/mission-related messaging
- Support JDRF Community Engagement Manager
- Assist Community Engagement Manager with creating engaging content for JDRF families and corporate partners
- Assist with creating exciting content for JDRF’s TypeOneNation – educational summit that host 200 family members and people with type one diabetes
- Create events and activities for newly diagnosed families and children
- Help with planning and executing events for Latinx community
- Assist in the creation and production of event invitations, website, program book, advertisements, brochures, signage
- Support staff in all aspects of revenue generation from fundraising events
Necessary Skills:
- Good interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Resourceful and flexible. Ability to pitch-in and help on variety of tasks as needed.
- Desire to work and learn about non-profit marketing and special event planning/execution/follow up and reporting.
- Good time management and organization skills. Ability to multitask.
