Entry Level Police Officer

The City of Wooster is accepting applications for entry level police officers. 

We will be holding an Open House Hiring Event on April 25, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm and April 27, 2024 2pm to 4pm. This event is open to people 18-35 years old who are serious about a career in law enforcement. Our goal is to showcase what our department has to offer and hopefully recruit a few good men and women to join the WPD family. We will be doing a short presentation on April 25th at 6pm and April 27th at 2pm to hear a short presentation about our department and the hiring process. At the conclusion of this presentation, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and meet the command staff. You'll also be given full access to and the ability to learn from officers assigned to all of our specialized units like K9, detective division, Community Impact Unit (CIU), Special Response Team (SRT) and others. We'll be giving tours of our state of the art new building and you'll get to see our officers conducting real time scenario based training demonstrations on our use of force simulator.
