Student Trainee (Clerical/ Administration)

The Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. 

The primary purpose of this position is to provide a student trainee who has been appointed to the Pathways Program with on-the-job training and guidance to further student technical development.

Duties:

  • Receives and directs telephone calls or visitors
  • Processes incoming mail
  • Maintains files and posts updates to manuals on policies, directives, and memoranda
  • Prepares and maintains office forms of various types
  • Performs routine, miscellaneous clerical work
  • Uses varied and advanced functions of word processing software to create, format, modify, edit, and print a variety of letters, reports, memos, and other textual documents
  • Prepares a wide variety of recurring correspondence, internal reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources and reviews and finalizes documents prepared by others
  • Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives
  • Receives and directs telephone calls or visitors
  • Establishes, updates, and maintains office records of various types that may be needed or will assist in the efficient operation of the office
  • Uses varied functions of multiple office automation software to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.

Occasional travel

Salary: $16.35- $25.56 /Hr.
