About Rocky Mountain Prep

Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP), a network of inclusive, public charter schools, has established a legacy of educational excellence in the Denver metro area.

With a mission to empower every student to reach their full potential through a rigorous, loving, and transformative academic experience, RMP has been preparing students for success in college, career, and life for over 15 years. We are in year one of a merger between “Legacy RMP” schools and “Legacy STRIVE” schools, currently operating 12 schools (5 elementary, 5 middle, 2 high schools), serving nearly 5,000 students across 12 schools.

RMP is driven by the belief that potential is everywhere, but opportunity is not. This belief is supported by our PEAK values – Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness – which define our culture and guide our commitment to academic excellence, inclusive education, and fostering a culture of love and respect.

As we continue to grow and evolve, our focus remains steadfast: to create opportunities for every student, fostering a future where each can achieve and succeed. Our leadership team, dedicated to making a positive impact on the families in our community, supports a talented team of teachers and school leaders to prepare our students for a future of possibilities.

The Opportunity

The Principal is tasked with a pivotal role in operationalizing and management of a comprehensive turnaround strategy and plan. This responsibility not only involves the initial execution of the strategy, but also its ongoing management, ensuring that the plan is dynamic, responsive, and effectively communicated across all levels of the school community.

Key expectations include:

  • Operationalizing the School’s Turnaround Strategy: Translate strategic goals into actionable steps, ensuring the plan is clearly outlined and implemented with fidelity across the school's operations, academics, and culture.
  • Management and Leadership: Provide day-to-day leadership in managing the turnaround plan, and guiding the school's leadership team to align with and embrace the strategic objectives. This involves being a motivating force, inspiring commitment, and ensuring accountability within the team.
  • Regular Updates and Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with your Manager, lead team, and broader school community, providing regular updates on the progress of the turnaround plan. This includes sharing successes, challenges, and lessons learned to foster transparency and collective ownership of the turnaround process.
  • Monitoring and Status Updates: Conduct regular reviews of the plan's implementation status, ensuring that the school staff and community are informed and engaged with the progress. This requires setting up systems for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on key indicators of success.
  • Adaptability and Proactive Recommendations: Demonstrate adaptability by making proactive recommendations to adjust the plan as needed. This involves being attuned to emergent needs and opportunities, ensuring the strategy remains relevant and effective in achieving its goals.
  • Aligning with RMP’s Vision: Ensure that all strategic planning and implementation efforts are in alignment with Rocky Mountain Prep’s mission, values, and long-term objectives. The principal will play a critical role in the integration of these foundational elements into the fabric of the turnaround strategy, approach, and reinforcing the school's commitment to academic excellence, inclusivity, and community engagement.
