Rate Test Analyst (Springfield, MO)

We are seeking a Rate Test Analyst for our Springfield, MO location. In this position, your primary responsibility is to test the accuracy of rates and formulas used in issuing policies. You will handle tasks independently and uses judgment to handle a wider range of complex problems and follow industry standard testing techniques. Initiative and independent judgment are required to search out the appropriate course of action within the context of established policies and procedures.

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Handle medium to large service requests and project tasks as part of a larger team.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and scenarios used for policy rating.
  • Apply industry standard testing techniques and best practices when executing test plans, scenarios, and test cases.
  • Demonstrate insurance knowledge, fundamental business concepts, foundational actuarial technician skills, and a working knowledge of technical computer skills.
  • Utilize an advanced knowledge of Excel in handling complex rating formulas in the rating calculators used to validate premiums in the Policy Admin system, and ensures premiums are calculated correctly in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley antifraud law (SOX) requirements.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge on a minimum of three lines of business.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to internal processes and procedures.
  • Review requirements and seeks clarity to improve the quality of rate test expectations.
  • Identify errors, defects, system problems and unexpected results prior to implementation and documents defects and resolutions properly.
  • Understand basic actuarial concepts.
  • Actively communicate and participate with other areas’ line of business team stakeholders in support of project planning and the execution of service requests.

 
Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two to four years of experience.
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Strong Microsoft office knowledge with an emphasis on advanced Excel skills
