Project Detailer

SUMMARY: The Project Detailer will detail, train, and improve existing detailers, learn Company policies and standards to produce accurate drawings meeting customer’s specifications and fabrication efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Detail drawings going out to customers for approval.
  • Clean up details once customers have made their changes and submit to the Plant Superintendent for fabrication with all BOM’s, saw sheets, fabrication sheets, packing list, etc.
  • Be involved with scheduling internal and external detailing with OGI-Houston and OGI-Canton to ensure on-time delivery of drawings going out for approval.
  • Help coordinate and schedule detailing dates to meet fabrication start dates.
  • Coordinate field claims and provides solutions to our customers with solutions for the success of the company and our customers.
  • Involved with scheduling drawings going to the plant floor and manage jobs as needed to meet customer shipments.
  • Maintain proper communication and coordination with customers as well with the plant supervisor.
  • Work with sales to produce solutions in detailing to ensure proper flow of jobs with special needs, communicate with customers as needed on these jobs which will produce profitable income for the company and our customers.
  • Maintain high standards of output through tracking the progress of each job.
  • Provide feedback and information on claims, management with solutions for improved claim rates.
  • Maintain records of miss detailed work and create a solution to solve future problems. Perform other duties with new ideas and functions of engineering.
  • Work with the plant floor to improve any changes needed to increase the output of fabrication.
  • Involve yourself with ideas to improve drawings that will increase output.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES: The successful  a minimum of 1 years’ experience in detailing (class work included), fabrication or a combination of the two. Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) suite of applications, AutoCAD 2006, and MRP/ERP system experience. The candidate must have a high level of energy, be results-oriented, confident, and have strong people skills. A positive relationship and a strong rapport with all levels is a requirement. The candidate shall be strategic in orientation, proactive, persistent, and able to handle multiple projects and/or customers simultaneously, as well as work within a very fast-paced environment. The incumbent must be flexible, resilient, and adaptable to working in a dynamic organization with an evolving culture.
