Survey Technician Paid Internship

General Description:

            Performs construction staking, layout record keeping, gather as-built information, and existing condition surveys to assist the Project Surveyor in project construction staking and development.

Responsibilities:

Field Work 

  • Assist the Project Surveyor during construction layout and topographic surveys
  • Read and interpret plans
  • Keep records of deviations from plan dimensions
  • Compile as-built information as requested
  • Set stakes for alignment and grade
  • Use and understand surveying equipment to achieve required accuracy
  • Evaluate and inspect work in progress
  • Inform Project Surveyor of any discrepancies found while performing task
  • Use, understand, and care for surveying equipment
  • Maintain a well-stocked and neat survey vehicle 

Administrative

  • Be proactive in bringing potential problems and conflicts to the Project Surveyor, Project Superintendent and/or Project Foreman’s attention

Personnel

  • Help identify and solve problems
  • Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the company and customer

Safety

  • Be aware of, and use safe work practices
  • Be proactive in bringing safety issues to the attention of the person responsible for correcting the issue.

Candidates must have a valid non-restrictive Ohio Drivers License, be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening, undergo a preemployment background check,  and be able to withstand working in the sun and heat.
