Aviation Aerospace Summer Internship

(Beacon is a program of Atlantis, which runs summer programs for students in several fields, including healthcare, business, management consulting, and aviation/aerospace.)

The Beacon Fellowship (see here specifically for the aviation page) is a 1-6 week program where students gain hands-on aviation and aerospace experience for an elite brand, while being mentored by Project Lead with experience from a top consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, or BCG). The opportunity below is for a full merit sponsorship to participate in a program in summer 2024 for a top Aviation/Aerospace company, Airbus.

Madrid (Spain) Airbus Project: Beacon has partnered with Airbus for several years, including programs in 2019, 2022, and 2023. Airbus is the largest aircraft manufacturer in the world. Who is this for? This is for undergraduates or those that have graduated college in the last 2 years in US or Canadian universities that are very interested in aviation or aerospace.

What’s a Beacon program?

• Learning by doing a project for an elite aviation company
• Learning full-time from an elite, top tier consultant Project Leader
• One or several weeks, full-time, during the summer
• Housing, some meals, insurance, excursions, etc, included
• An experience that places aviation in your resume with a recognizable brand 
• Participants often do another internship in the same summer, before or after Beacon

Full Merit Scholarship: Beacon is normally a program students pay for that combines an amazing consulting experience with a trip to an exciting city. However, this opportunity is for a full merit scholarship and only offered to particularly talented students who exclusively apply via Handshake.

What’s Included: Beacon programs include 20+ hours/week of being mentored by an elite tier consultant Project Lead for an elite brand, housing, some meals, transportation, travel health insurance, and more. Though most students pay to complete Beacon consulting programs, this opportunity is to receive a full merit scholarship offered exclusively via Handshake.

Dates:  1-3 week program during Summer 2024, likely in Madrid, Spain, that works with the scholarship recipients schedules. However, note that all dates are in May and June 2024.

How To Apply: Stage 1: Submit your application via Handshake. An initial selection of possible scholarship recipients will be announced sometime after the deadline closes. Stage 2: Those in the final selection group will have additional application steps to take in order to be considered for the full merit scholarship.
