Hospice Volunteers Needed in NE Ohio!

Learn, Grow, and Build Experience While Making a Difference with Harmony Hospice!

Our primary goal is to make sure that the end-of-life experience is as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Beyond alleviating pain and symptoms, we emphasize emotional health and a harmonious mindset. Likewise, we address the spiritual and social needs of family members both during and after the end-of-life period.  Our Volunteer Team is an essential part of bringing Harmony to our patients and their families!

Volunteer activities available...

  • Sitting with patients to provide companionship, play games, and offer a friendly, comforting presence.
  • Assisting in light household chores and errands.
  • Calling patients and their families to provide support and ensure that they have the supplies they need
  • Work from your home or dorm room writing cards, making crafts, gathering gift bags, or crocheting, knitting, or sewing 
  • Providing support to our bereaved families by assisting with mailings, phone calls and in-home grief support visits.
  • Assisting with HR Activities, Data Entry, Creating Trainings, and assisting with other office activities in our Beachwood or Youngstown Offices
  • And so much more!

Qualifications: 

  • Availability of time and skills which pertain to the volunteer activity
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to guidelines and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and take directions well.
  • Empathetic listening skills

Time Commitment:

  • Our Harmony Hospice Volunteers set their own schedules, areas of services, and activities based on their availability and interests.

Our Volunteers receive training, continuing education,  and support relevant to their volunteer activities.

Patients are waiting in Mahoning, Trumbull, Stark, Portage, Cuyahoga, Wayne,  Summit,  and Medina counties.
