Distirct Manager - Summer 2024

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

Imagine testing your own limits on a daily basis. Growing more and more confident each day as you rise to each challenge! The District Manager (DM) is responsible for overseeing the operations of 14-20 aquatic facilities. Responsible for; client satisfaction, employee engagement, and brand reputation. 


 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct management of all facilities, employees, and Area Managers in designated districts. This includes supervision, discipline, mentoring, and support
  • Mentor Area Managers during facility orientations and troubleshooting pump rooms.
  • Enforce chain of command as stated in all employee manuals
  • Ensure employees and Area Managers adhere to the American Red Cross policies and procedures
  • Must always be in proper professional uniform
  • Responsible for monitoring the day-to-day maintenance of each pool in the designated district. This includes but may not be limited to:
    • Monitor daily chemical logs and daily attendance sheets
    • Fill out Management logs in the blue binder
    • Clean pump baskets, monitor pressure on the filtration system, and backwash when necessary
    • Report all irregularities to the proper manager
    • Monitor the chemical inventory at each pool in a designated district
    • Will ensure facility cleanliness through personal involvement and delegation to employees. Pool logs should be checked regularly to ensure cleanliness
    • Oversee and take part in training employees and Area Managers to properly operate facilities in a designated district
  • Perform random pool pass checks and ensure customer satisfaction at each facility in the district
  • Remain flexible while working. May be required to lifeguard/pool attendant at any given time (while working)
  • Communicate days off to Regional Managers as well as Area Managers to ensure district      coverage
  • Attend  bi-weekly manager meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year experience as a manager (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (preferred)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Patience
  • Experience troubleshooting pump rooms (preferred)
  • Clean driving record

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Essential: 

  • High school diploma, GED, or in the process of obtaining a High school diploma or GED
  • American Red Cross Certification (Lifeguard, First-Aid, CPR and AED)

Preferred: 

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation Management, or Business Administration
  • American Red Cross Certification (Lifeguard Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor Trainer)

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • A minimum age of 18 years of age

Preferred:

  • 3+ years Lifeguarding
  • 3+ years working in a customer service-related industry; retail, restaurant, sales
  • Prior experience working at a facility utilizing Red Cross Lifeguarding standards
  • Mechanically inclined, can work with tools
